ISLA DEL CAÑO

Not far away off Costa Ricas´, southerly Coast (10 miles/16 kilometers from dominical beach, Caño Island is a biological reserve with an a healthy coral reefs life. Good visibility , with some corrents are the conditions of these dives.

About the marine life in the reserve, you can see colorful reef fish, with schools of snapper or barracuda, turtles, moray eels and whitetip reef sharks. . Sometimes you can see pelagic life, like a dolphins, humpback whales and pilot whales. 

ISLA DEL COCO

The top dive destination in Costa Rica and probably one of the best around the world. 340 miles/550 kilometers off the country’s west coast, the only way to get there is via liveaboard from quepos or puntarenas.

The marine life at this island include Galapagos sharks, bull sharks, tiger sharks, silky sharks and whitetip reef sharks. Bajo Alcyone, one of the famous dives, is known worldwide for its vast schools of scalloped hammerhead. About visibility ranges from 30-90feet/10-28 meters. 

Dive sites are mostly deep with strong currents. We recomend divers must be confident in the water and have their PADI Advanced Open Water certification or equivalent. 

CATALINA ISLANDS

Catalina Islands is one of the top dive sites if you consider, is just 40min away from liberia airport, to Flamingo Beach where all the daytrips departure. More than 20 dive sites with good visibility, no corrents, and amazing sealife.

On a regular dive, you can see a lot of white tip sharks, eagle rays, mobulas, turtles. Also they have probably one of the best seasons for Giant Manta Rays and whale sharks from march to maig.

They have also humpback whales season twice a year, so you can be one of the lucky divers to experience dive with a humpback whale.
